Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at Poplar Springs Church near Kilmichael for Alton Glynn Downs, 87, of Vaiden, who died on Monday, Jan. 27, at his residence. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The Rev. Tony Black officiated. Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan.
