Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Edna Shackael Montague, 93, of Winona, who died on Saturday, Jan. 25, in Vaiden. Burial followed in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery near Kilmichael. The Rev. Rupert Ingram and the Rev. David Rogers officiated. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Montague was born on June 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Paige and the late Melvin Lee Montgomery Shackael. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church near Kilmichael.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Earl Glynn Montague; two sisters, Annie Paige Shackael and Jean Britt, and her brother, Buddy Shackael, preceded Mrs. Montague in death.
Survivors include, one sister, Carolyn Jefcoat of Greenwood and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
