Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Eddie Edward Jarrell, 58, of Grenada, who died on Saturday, March 23, at his residence. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Elam Cemetery near Coffeeville. The Rev. Rickey Harris and the Rev. Truman Scarborough will officiate. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening and will again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, March 27, all at McKibben and Guinn.
Eddie was born on Sept. 14, 1965, in Virginia, the son of the late Orville Dewey and the late Louise Braunlich Jarrell. He dedicated his life in service to his fellow man. He spent more than 35 years as an EMT, was a police officer at the Coffeeville Police Department and was also a former member of the Coffeeville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a 32nd degree Mason and held a membership at the Grenada Masonic Lodge #31 where he was a Past Master. Among his many Masonic credentials, he had served as a Knight Templar, Scottish Rite Mason and a York Rite Mason. He was also an active Shriner and a past president of the Grenada Shriners.
Eddie enjoyed collecting antiques and Masonic memorabilia in his spare time. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He was a member of Tillatoba Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Nyree Jarrell; daughters, Ronlyn Jarrell and Mali Jarrell, both of Grenada; son, Jackson Jarrell (Emily) of Grenada; grandson, E.J. Jarrell of Grenada and his mother-in-law, Sheila Jackson of Tillatoba.
Pallbearers will be Alex McGee, Jake Drewrey, Jeremy Lucius, Lee Jackson, Mark Bowles and Mickey Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Green, Bradley Hanes, Henry Jackson, Johnathan Reeves and Jeff Wilson.
