Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Artie Hendricks, 92, of Grenada, who died on Monday, March 18, in Charleston. Burial with military honors followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Charles Provine and the Rev. Chuck Provine officiated. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday, March 23, at McKibben and Guinn.
Artie was born on Oct. 15, 1931, in Grenada County, the son of the late Oliver Carrol and the late Linna Martin Hendricks. He worked as a tool and die engineer at Randall Textron for more than 33 years. He also honorably served our country in the United States Army being discharged as a Sergeant. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Grenada and also involved in the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Celia Jane Chapuis Provine Hendricks; daughter, Cheryl Hendricks England; one son, Ray Miller Provine; grandson, Artie Cameron Provine; sisters, Lily Faye Brooks, Eunice May Brooks and Dovie Hardin, and brothers, Bill Hendricks, Ed Hendricks, William Hendricks, Duel Hendricks and L.C. Hendricks, preceded Artie in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Jack C. Provine Jr. (Sherry), Robert Craig Provine (Libby) and Charles Alan Provine; five grandchildren, Paul England, Jason Provine, Barbara Barton, Bobby Craig Provine and Mary Beth Provine; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
