Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church in Carrollton for Alex Bruce Beckwith, 81, of Carrollton, who died on Thursday, May 18, in Grenada. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton. The Rev. Bennie Watson officiated.
Mr. Beckwith was born on Oct. 26, 1941, in Carroll County, the son of the late Alex “Jack” and the late Cecil Hill Beckwith. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Carrollton.
In addition to his parents, one brother, George Robert Beckwith, preceded Mr. Beckwith in death.
Survivors include, his wife of 61 years, Virginia England Beckwith of Carrollton; two sons, Bruce Wayne Beckwith (Connie) of Bentonia and Ricky Beckwith (Sherry) of Yazoo City; sister, Patricia Beckwith Pittman of Grenada; two brothers, Jerry Beckwith (Debra Ann) of Coffeeville and Larry Beckwith of Carrollton; two grandchildren; one step grandchild; three great grandchildren and one brother-in-law.
