Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Calhoun County for Mrs. Terri Hardin McDonald, 70, of Slate Springs, who died peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at her residence. Burial followed in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Robin Risher and Dr. Jon Doler officiated.
Terri was born on Aug. 27, 1955, in Calhoun City, the daughter of the late Rufus Lewis Hardin and the late Jane Magness Hardin. She earned her degree from Clarke College and faithfully served as the church secretary at Hebron Baptist Church in Grenada for more than 30 years. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved cooking for her family and friends, and sharing her warm, caring spirit with all who knew her. A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, she served in many roles over the years including church pianist.
Survivors include, her husband, William McDonald; two daughters, Karma Simmons (Scott) of Slayden and Julie Turner (Mark) of Coila; two sons, Tommy McDonald (Lauren) and Greg McDonald (Aleesha) of Grenada; brother, Tony Hardin of Derma and nine grandchildren, Dalton Turner, Reed Simmons, Kaleb McDonald, Jennah Winter, Kaydee McDonald, Aubree McDonald, Marlee McDonald, Cason Turner and Lilly Winter.
Greg McDonald, Kaleb McDonald, Tommy McDonald, Scott Simmons, Cason Turner and Mark Turner honored Terri by serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Gideons International.
