Funeral services were held at noon on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at Kilmichael Baptist Church in Kilmichael for William Dennis Keenum, 61, of Winona, who died on Monday, Feb. 20, in Jackson. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery near Kilmichael. The Rev. Don Smith officiated, assisted by the Rev. Dale Sorgen. Visitation was held from 10 a.m.

State gas prices dropping, fall 5.5 cents in last week

Average gasoline prices in Mississippi have fallen 5.5 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.92/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 2,014 stations in Mississippi. Prices in Mississippi are 24.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 32.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at Springhill Cemetery near Oakland for James Earl Wiggins, 66, who died on Tuesday evening, Feb. 21, in Charleston.

James was an avid fisherman, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at the park and loved his morning cups of coffee.
