Grenada drops region games to Starkville Yellowjackets

Grenada High School boys basketball coach Joey Cooley knew the challenge his players faced last Tuesday against Class 6A, Region 1 member Starkville High School. The Yellowjackets came into the contest fresh off a 100-93 loss to Tupelo and was ranked fourth in the state.

Grenadian J.J. Russell sets sights on 2022 NFL Draft

After completing his fourth season at the University of Memphis, former Grenada High School standout J.J. Russell had a decision to make. He could finish his career in four years and go on with his life or take advantage of an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the affect of the COVID-19 virus on collegiate sports.

Raiderettes win pair at Canton Holiday Tourney

The Kirk Academy Raiderettes cruised to a pair of wins last week at the annual Canton Academy Holiday Tournament held at Canton.

Kirk (14-3) jumped out to a 20-8 first period lead and went on to crush Tri-County 58-28 last Wednesday night. The Raiderettes led 35-13 at halftime.
