Children who want to learn the fundamentals of the game of football are encouraged to make plans to attend the Tyre Phillips Football Camp and Community Fun Day open for all youngsters in Grades K-12 on Saturday, June 25, at Grenada High School.
The June event will run from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Registration runs from 8 a. m. until 9 a.m. The campers will be put through drills from 9 a.m.-noon. Seven-on-Seven competition runs from 1-4 p.m.
Phillips has five current NFL players expected to take part in the event. They include Martinez Rankin, Elgton Jenkins, Jeffery Simmons and Greg Eiland, who played with Phillips at Mississippi State along with former Grenada High School standout and current member of the Philadelphia Eagles Genard Avery.
