Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Sarah Rebecca Tatum Collins, 88, of Grenada, formerly of Greenville, who died on Thursday, Oct. 6, at her residence. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, in Ecru City Cemetery in Ecru. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at McKibben and Guinn.
Mrs. Collins was born on Jan. 8, 1934, in Pontotoc County, daughter of the late Omer Alfonzo and Ruby Jewel Gray Tatum. She worked as a cosmetologist for many years and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greenville. She was a good standing member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Billie Jo Harville, preceded Mrs. Collins in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Ellis “Bill” Collins; daughters, Susan Ashcraft of Grenada and Janice Williams (David R.) of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother, Samuel Tatum of Ohio and two grandchildren, Janie Elizabeth Ashcraft and John D. Ashcraft IV.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriners.
