A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in Grenada Memorial Gardens for Rosie McGarrity Wilson, 82, of Grenada, who died peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, in Cleveland. The Rev J. Barry Worrell officiated.
Ms. Wilson was born on Nov. 21, 1942, in Tallahatchie County, the daughter of the late Benford “Pete” and the late Floy Kerr McGarrity. She was a loving mother and granny to her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a former employee of Pennaco Hosiery and Heatcraft in Grenada. She was a very devoted Christian and member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her brother, Benford McGarrity Jr.; one sister, JoAnn Williams; her daughter, Patricia Annette Wilson, and one grandson, Michael Bradley Wilson, preceded Ms. Wilson in death.
Survivors include, her two sisters, Dot Baker of Grenada and Maggie White (Bill) of Madison; her two sons, Jack Wilson (Amelia) of Grenada and Jeff Wilson (Lynne) of Winona; her five grandchildren, Benji Wilson (Alyssa), Caitlin Wilson, Amy McCarley (Paul), Andrew Wilson (Raymie) and Charlie Wilson, and her two great grandchildren, Kobi McCarley and Giles McCarley.
