Memorial service plans are private for Ms. Peggy Jean Minga Ragsdale, 79, of Grenada, who died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Madison.
Peggy was born on Oct. 23, 1945, in Grenada, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Minga Sr. and the late Annie Louise Carpenter Minga. She earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Holmes Community College and worked in a variety of settings from Grenada Lake Medical Center, area nursing homes, home health and ultimately retired as the nurse at the Grenada County Jail. Peggy was a Christian and put her faith in God in every circumstance.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, A.J. Minga Jr. and Roy Allen Minga, preceded Peggy in death.
Survivors include, her daughter, Amanda Leigh McNatt (David) of Canton; son, B.A. Thornton (Carol) of Gore Springs; one brother, Larry Minga (Sandra) of Grenada; four grandchildren, Tyler Thornton, Anna Claire Thornton, Miley Sanders-McNatt and Evr McNatt and two great grandchildren, Brentley Thornton and Bryler Thornton.
