Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Rosa Gail Newcomb Havens, 58, of Elliott, who died on Wednesday, July 20, in Grenada. Burial followed in Elliott Cemetery. The Rev. Fletcher Moorman officiated.
Gail was born May 14, 1964, in Grenada, the daughter of Howard and Margaret Corder Newcomb. She was devoted to her family and took great joy in providing for and meeting their needs. She also diligently worked alongside her husband in their family business. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, painting and working in her yard and flowers.
Her parents and her brother, Danny Newcomb, preceded Gail in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Roger Havens Jr.; daughter, Devan Havens of Grenada; son, Johnny Marter of Grenada; sister, Myra Smith of Elliott; two grandsons, Mason Marter and Loden Marter; son-in-law, David Logan; daughter-in-law, Lindsey Marter, and two nieces, Melonie Browning (Dustin) and Courtney Taylor.
Ben Blair, Art Blake, Baker Blake, Billy Cummings, Roger Havens Sr., and Tater Sessums honored Gail by carrying her to rest in Elliott Cemetery.
