Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in Spring Hill Cemetery near Grenada for Mrs. Mary Nell Griffin Dabney, 89, of Hernando, who died on Saturday, July 16, at her residence.
Mrs. Dabney was born July 22, 1932, in Calhoun County, the daughter of James Holman and Myrtle Crowley Griffin. She had worked in management in the hotel and convenience store business for many years prior to her retirement. She was a faithful and devoted member of Jackson Chapel Church. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother for generations to come.
Her parents; husband, Elmer Dabney; sons, Thomas Wayne Meador and Michael Bratton Meador; two brothers, James “Sonny” Griffin and William Earl Griffin, and grandsons, Christopher Meador and Michael Meador, preceded Mrs. Dabney in death.
Survivors include, her sister, Judy Gillis (Allen) of Grenada; one brother, Bob Griffin (Inette) of Alabama; stepdaughter, Marie Armistead of Alabama; eight grandchildren, Sandra Holliman, Matthew Meador, Wendy Hale, Rebecca Hitchens, Maggie Pugh, Benjamin Meador, Meagan Pearson and Emily Crouch and a host of great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Collin Brown, Tim Gillis, Brian Hale, Matthew Meador, Blake Pearson and Robert Pugh.
