A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Mrs. Virginia Elenore Dezell, 95, of Duck Hill, who died on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, in Grenada.
Virginia was born on June 5, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., where she resided most of her life with her family and working as a bookkeeper. She was fortunate to spend the latter portion of her life living near her children in Duck Hill, which was a true joy to her.
Virginia was a youthful soul and lover of life. She attended Elliot Baptist Church, was an avid reader and was a Civil War historian. Some of her many adventures included competing in AKC dog shows and her many international travels, which allowed her to pursue her love of music, culture and food.
Her mother, Muriel Elinor Cardwell, and her husband, Jack Herbert Dezell, preceded Virginia in death.
Survivors include, her daughters, Sharon Stuvee and her husband, James Stuvee Sr., of Duck Hill and Sandra Ward and her husband, Dennis Ward, of Duck Hill; three grandchildren, James Stuvee Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Stuvee, of Grenada, Jessica Arnold (Ward) and her husband, Dalton Arnold, of Florida and Bryan Ward of Vicksburg and one great grandchild, Madeleine Stuvee.
