Roy was born on Aug. 26, 1955, in Louisville, Ken., the son of the late Roy Lee Jr. and June Williams Honeycutt. He enjoyed spending his summers with his grandparents in Gore Springs and was blessed to retire back to Grenada County. Roy, considered by many as a gentle giant, will long be remembered for his kindness and his willingness to always help those in need. Outside of his work, he also made friends across the nation as he competed and won in numerous horse shows. A true animal lover, Roy loved his horses and donkeys as well as his faithful dogs. Roy will long be remembered for his ability to talk to anyone and his ability to keep everyone in his presence laughing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In his own words, “Good ride cowboy.”
In addition to his father, his grandparents, Roy Sr. and Gladys Williams and Gola and Vernon Williams, preceded Roy in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Laura Honeycutt; mother, June Honeycutt of Louisville, Ken.; sister, Dr. Maryanne Honeycutt Elliott of Louisville, Ken., and two nieces, Kathryn Dotson and Emily Dotson.
