A private family Celebration of Life Service in memory of Maxine Havener Peckenpaugh Semmes, 95, who died on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, will be held at a later date.
Maxine was born on July 18, 1926, in Dyer County, Tenn., the daughter of Beulah Rutledge and Eldridge Simmons Havener. She was the second of five girls. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Grenada.
Her first husband, James David (J.D.) Peckenpaugh; her second husband, Raphael Semmes, and her sisters, Dorothy Havener Hollis, Rosanne Havener Moorhead and Peggy Havener Robey, preceded Maxine in death.
Survivors include, her daughter, Sandra Clair Peckenpaugh Cash; grandchildren, Jennifer Clair Cash and James Palmer Cash; great granddaughter, Keirin Havener Alberg; her sister, Patty Havener Holt, and her brother-in-law, Ralph Holt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, your local animal shelter or a charity of choice.
