Funeral services were held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at Greater Powell Chapel AME Church in Grenada for the Rev. Maggie J. Patterson, 94, of Zachary, La., who died on Monday, Jan. 1, in Zachary, La. Burial followed in Haven Rest Cemetery in Grenada with MJR Friendly Funeral Home in charge. The Rev. Dr. Leoda Topps, coordinator, Women in Ministry, North Mississippi Conference, officiated. Eulogist was the Rev. William Hardiman, presiding elder, Northeast District, formerly the Grenada District. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Thursday, Jan. 11, at the church.
The Rev. Patterson was an itinerant elder and former pastor of Wesley Chapel AME Church (Retired) in Grenada. Zachary, La., was her earthly home from August 2015 until her death. Now, she has transitioned to her heavenly home.
