Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene for John K. “JK” Lane, 86, of Scobey, who died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at his residence. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery in Rosebloom. Bro. Jerry Hatcher officiated. Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday, March 2, at the church.
JK was born on April 18, 1937, in Grenada, the son of the late Ira Meeks Lane Sr. and the late Bertha Katherine Kilgore Lane. He was employed as a machinist until his retirement at Lyon Incorporated/Grenada Stamping and Assembly, which later became Rockwell. He was a member of Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Rachel Tharpe Lane; his sisters, Pauline Elizabeth Mitchell and Martha Claudine Mitchell, and two brothers, Ira Meeks Jr. and George William Lane, preceded JK in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Marila Wall and her husband, Lee; his sons, Mark Lane and Charles Lane and his wife, Lisa; one brother, James Deon Lane of Jackson; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Jonathan Lane, Justin Lane, Justin Moss, Hunter Wall, Nelson Allen, Austin Roberts and Gage Aldison served as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene.
