Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, in Bradford Chapel Cemetery near Gore Springs for Mrs. Jean Clanton, 88, of Duck Hill, who died on Wednesday, May 25, at her residence. The Rev. Roger Jackson Sr. officiated.
Mrs. Clanton was born on Dec. 31, 1933, the daughter of Olcie Lee and Grace Nanney Mathis. She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Winona.
Her parents; her husband, Thomas Wood Clanton; two brothers; one sister and three great grandchildren, preceded Mrs. Clanton in death.
Survivors include, her daughters, Sharon McAdams of Hobbs, N.M. and Debbie Lowe of Holcomb; her son, Thomas Michael Clanton of Hondo, Texas; one sister, Opal Starks of Murray, Ken.; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
