Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Horace Browning, 93, of Grenada, who died on Monday, Jan. 22, in Grenada. Private burial followed in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Paynes. Dr. Joey Faulk officiated.
Mr. Browning was born on Oct. 24, 1930, in Webb, the son of the late David and the late Lois Pernell Browning. He honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was of the Baptist faith. He retired as a park manager with the Mississippi State Park Commission and was a commercial fisherman. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Faye Browning; son, Steven Browning, and one nephew, Ray Browning, preceded Mr. Browning in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Cindy Tucker (Andy); his identical twin brother, Morris Browning; three grandchildren, Nash Tucker (Ashley), Lindsey Tucker (Ray) and Holly Read (Neil); five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
