Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Mrs. Beulah Vance Holifield, 85, of Kilmichael, who died on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at her residence. Burial followed in Sarepta Cemetery in Stewart. The Rev. Reidis Nash and the Rev. Terry Corley officiated. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time on Friday, Dec. 15, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holifield was born on June 18, 1938, in Stewart, the daughter of the late James Synott and the late Katie Alene Summers Sellars. She was a member of Poplar Creek Nations Baptist Church in Kilmichael. She worked for several local manufacturing companies over the years before retiring from Irvin Automotive in Greenwood. She enjoyed cooking and serving others. She loved spending time with her family, especially her husband, traveling and her cats.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Jimmie Sellars Smith, and one great-great grandson, Bentley Thomas Fortier, preceded Mrs. Holifield in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Jimmy Holifield of Kilmichael; daughters, Teresa Diane “Cinnamon” Vance Mansfield of Enid and Sharon Vance Webb (Cecil) of Grenada; five grandchildren, Preston Johnson, Scotty Blaylock, Jason Carpenter, Ginger Meeks and Mitch Mansfield; eight great grandchildren, Adrienne, Dylan, McKenzie, Zayden, Kaylee, Megan, Lexie, and Katie Beth; six great-great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
Pallbearers were Mason Meeks, John Fortier, Cecil Webb, Mitch Mansfield, Ken Holifield and Joe Dukes.
The family gratefully acknowledges the physicians and staff who have taken care of Mrs. Holifield during her extended illness. A special thank you to the staff who have visited her in the home and cared for her from Accent Hospice Care.
