Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Mildred Sue Grant Blakely, 83, of Winona, who died on Sunday, Aug. 14, at her residence. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. The Rev. John Lumbley will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blakely was born on Nov. 28, 1938, in Duck Hill, the daughter of the late Jesse Forrest and Nancy Emmaline Adams Grant. She was a member of Winona Church of God.
In addition to her parents, her son, John Wayne Blakely; two sisters, Mary Alice Crenshaw and Bertha Blakely, and five brothers, John Grant, David Grant, Donald Grant, Howell Grant and Floyd Grant, preceded Mrs. Blakely in death.
Survivors include, her husband, John Pat Blakely of Winona; daughter, Vivian Hathcock (James) of Winona; daughter-in-law, Linda Blakely of Winona; three sisters, Ann Alexander of Silsbee, Texas, Jo Haynie of Grenada and Linda Lumbley of Winona; brother, Will Grant of Senatobia; four grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
