A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Michael Glenn Kennedy, 68, of Grenada, who died on Sunday, June 11, at his residence. Inurnment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. His brother, Dr. Ben Kennedy, will officiate. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to service time on Wednesday, June 14, at McKibben and Guinn.
Mike was born on March 9, 1955, in Lambert, the son of the late Leon and Lillie Jane Skinner Kennedy. He had spent many seasons of his life working at Heatcraft in Grenada. He was a diehard Ole Miss Rebel and enjoyed cheering on the Rebels at any opportunity. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
Above all, Mike enjoyed and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchil-dren. He will be remembered as a man who was loved by all who knew him. His magnetic person-ality and being able to relate to anyone made him the special man that he was. He will be missed for many years to come.
In addition to his father, one grandson, Justin Murphree, preceded Mike in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Carmie L. Kennedy; his mother, Jane Kennedy; his daughters, Salina Blankenship (Johnny) and Dana Hood, all of Grenada, and Missy Kennedy (Brittany) of Oxford; his brothers, Rick Kennedy (Mary) of Hartselle, Ala., and Dr. Ben Kennedy (Angel) of Charleston and his beloved grandchildren, Cory Murphree (Tiffany), Haley Hardy (Ryan), Hannah Pritchard (Sy), Savannah Kirk, Mason Blankenship, Rylee Murphree, Kate Blankenship, Hadley Hardy, Keith Hardy and Hensley Kennedy.
Honorary pallbearers will be E.G. Abel, Johnny Blankenship, Ryan Hardy and Sy Pritchard.
