Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Willie Paul Bennett Trotter, 98, of Grenada, who died on Saturday, June 10. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Her nephew, Mr. Wilton Neal, and her grandson, Mr. Mark Davis, will officiate. Family and friends will gather 30 minutes prior to the service time on Tuesday, June 13, at McKibben and Guinn.
Mrs. Trotter was born on April 20, 1925, in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Aaron Moody and the late Bessie Slocum Bennett. A devoted homemaker, Mrs. Trotter was a skilled seamstress and also enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Norman Trotter, and seven siblings, Clarence Bennett, Louise Barrentine, Katie Bennett, Bertha Porter, Lillie Mae Woods, Janie Eldridge and Gladys Johnson, preceded Mrs. Trotter in death.
Survivors include, her daughters, Sandra Davis (Jimmy) of Grenada and Susan Fletcher (Bill) of Clinton; four grandchildren, Christan Toney (Jerry), Mark Davis (Laura), Jessica Thornton (James) and Jeremy Fletcher (Melissa); seven great grandchildren, Jonathan Davis, Christopher Davis, Leala Toney, Parker Toney, Rilan Fletcher, Mason Fletcher and Stoney Fletcher and several nieces and nephews.
Christopher Davis, Jonathan Davis, Mark Davis, Jeremy Fletcher, James Thornton, Jerry Toney and Parker Toney will honor Mrs. Trotter by serving as pallbearers.
