The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a hazardous weather outlook for central and north central Mississippi for tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Beginning around 2:30 p.m. and continuing through the night, significant thunderstorms and tornadoes are likely with strong and long tracked significant tornadoes possible. Some thunderstorms could also produce damaging winds up to 80 mph and large hail of golf ball size.
The peak timing is expected to be after dark with isolated strong tornadoes.
According to Grenada County EMA/911 Director Trebia Rodgers the safe room located at 260 Mondy Rd., will open prior to the severe weather threat.
“I plan to open the safe room at 2 p.m. unless the system moves in faster,” Rodgers said.
