Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, in Bradford Chapel Cemetery for Mrs. Jean Clanton Stewart, 86, of Grenada, who died on Saturday, Jan. 22, in Greenwood. Dr. Jim Nunnelee and Bro. Ken Salley officiated.
Jean was born on July 12, 1935, in the Spring Hill Community of Webster County, the daughter of Mallory H. and Effie Cooper Clanton. She was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed volunteering and giving of her time to those in need, especially those confined to nursing homes. She was a member of Bradford Chapel Baptist Church and was formerly a member of First Baptist Church in Manchester, Tenn., where she was very active in many church activities.
Her parents; her husband, James Robert “Bob” Stewart, and her siblings, Braxton Clanton, Melvin Clanton, Travis Clanton, Odean Middleton and Louise Trussell, preceded Jean in death.
Survivors include, her son, Terry Stewart of Grenada and a host of nieces and nephews as well as her beloved cats.
