Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. David Poynor will officiate. Family and friends will gather from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Saturday, Jan. 1, at the church.
Claude Allen was born on Sept. 10, 1944, in Coffeeville, the son of Claude Garnet and Katie Shaw Hughes. He was a master electrician and plumber, and had worked as a self-employed contractor most of his working life. He was a member of Elam Baptist Church where he had faithfully served as music director. He had also previously served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Coffeeville.
An accomplished musician, Claude Allen spent many hours writing and producing music at the Hardy Station studio. His love of music and love of the Lord poured out from him and he will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him. While our hearts are hurting, we find comfort in knowing he has met his Savior face to face.
His parents; two sisters, Elsie Brower and Elizabeth Bagguley, and two brothers, Boyd Hughes and Loyd Hughes, preceded Claude Allen in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Tammy H. Hughes of Coffeeville; sons, Noel A. Hughes (Kelly) of Coffeeville, G. Shawn Hughes (Gwen) of Coffeeville, Geoffrey S. Hughes (Nadia) of Horn Lake; Roman J.
