Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, in Woodlawn Memorial Park for Mr. Larry Doyle Vance, 74, of Grenada, who died on Friday, Jan. 1, at his residence. Bro. Randy Kirk officiated.
Larry was born on March 18, 1946, in Carroll County to Doyle Cleveland and Eva Dale Owens Vance. He was a graduate of John Rundle High School and attended Mississippi State University where he played on the football team. He always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed many years being self-employed in the automobile, camper and furniture business. He was a devoted Mississippi State Football fan and also enjoyed racing.
His parents and a brother, Steve Vance, preceded Larry in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Diann Chambley Vance; daughter, Kimberly Bowman (Matthew) of Brandon; sons, Tommy Vance (Marsha) of Brandon and Bryan Vance of Grenada; brothers, Glen Vance of Wichita, Kan., and Danny Vance of Coffeeville; grandchildren, Erin Vickers (James), Austin Vance, Logan Vance, Kaitlyn Vance, Audrey Williamson and Ashley Bowman; great grandchildren, Katherine Vickers and Taylor Vickers and his beloved dog, Casey Jones Vance.
Pallbearers were Brian Barton, Matt Chambley, Jimmy Hester, Scooter Shields, Austin Vance and Logan Vance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to Haley’s Team of Hope.
