Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada for Jerry Lee Harris, 76, of Scobey, who died on Monday, May 29, at his daughter’s home. Burial followed in Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time on Thursday, June 1, at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on Aug. 13, 1946, the son of the late Ben Alton Harris and the late Alice Marie Chapuis Harris. After receiving his master’s degree, Jerry worked as a schoolteacher and later worked as a courier. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Grenada.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Janet Sue Harris, and his son, James Alton “Jimmy” Harris, preceded Jerry in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Debra Franklin of Grenada and one granddaughter, Jamie Harris, and one great grandson, Jude Heavin, both of Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
