Graveside services will be held immediately following visitation on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, in Mars Hill Cemetery near Duck Hill for Mr. James Kenneth “Kenny” Tierce, 78, of Grenada, who died on Friday, Jan. 26, in Memphis, Tenn. The Rev. J. Barry Worrell will officiate. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.
Mr. Tierce was born on Aug. 28, 1945, in Memphis, Tenn., the son of the late James Fred and Clairnell Scott Tierce. “KT,” as he was affectionately known, was a graduate of John Rundle High School and attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College. He enjoyed a long career working at Heatcraft/Luvata and retired as plant manager of the company’s commercial coil division. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada and an avid golfer.
Survivors include, his wife, Margaret Tierce; daughters, Stephanie LeClair (Tim) of Grenada and Valerie Davis of Brandon; sister, Sandra Avery of Gore Springs; three grandchildren, Lindsey Fyfe (Evan), Andrew LeClair (Mekinzie) and Matthew Davis and one great grandchild, Parker Fyfe.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Lynn Tierce, preceded KT in death.
James Ralph Bennett, Lee Hankins, Tim LeClair, David McElwrath, Barry Rounsaville and Bob Taylor will honor Mr. Tierce by serving as pallbearers and carry him to rest in Mars Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Mustard Seed, 1085 Luckney Rd., Brandon, MS 39047-8786.
