Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, in Prospect Cemetery in Montgomery County for Mr. James Gary Walker, 65, of Grenada, who died on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at his residence. The Rev. Jerry McNeer officiated.
Gary was born on July 26, 1955, in Grenada to Willard and Winnie Pauline Collins Walker. He had spent most of his working life as a truck driver and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church. He was an avid crappie fisherman.
His parents; a sister, Betty Smith, and three brothers, James Morris Hendricks, Willard Walker Jr. and Charles Hendricks, preceded Gary in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Nicole Walker of Grenada; daughter, Anne Portis of Elliott; son, Justin Terry of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Glenda “Mutt” Slaughter (Claude) and Cathy Waldo (Chappell), all of Grenada and one grandson, James Wade Acy.
Pallbearers were Dalton Acy, Harry McCarley, Paul McCarley, Austin Waldo, Kage Waldo, Rob Waldo, Scottie Waldo and Walker Waldo.
