Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church in Gore Springs for Jackie L. Worsham, 78, of Gore Springs, who died on Thursday, Oct. 19, at his residence. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Dr. Joey Faulk officiated. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the church.
Jackie was born on Dec. 3, 1944, in Montgomery County, the son of the late Walter Lee Worsham and the late Willie Paul Taylor Worsham. He worked at Heatcraft for 13 years, then worked as an equipment operator for District 2 in Grenada County for 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include, his wife, Laverne Worsham, of Gore Springs and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Kevin Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell, Landon Rosamond, Tyler Voyles, Leo Fowler and Michale Voyles. Honorary pallbearers were Chad Bridges, Kent Lane, Tommy Williams, James Ray Mathis, Sammy Golliday and Guy Golliday.
