Due to the possibility of a mixture of snow, sleet and rain, along with low temperatures tonight and into the early morning hours, which could cause issues with travel on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, all schools in Grenada County will be closed.
Just after noon today, officials at Kirk Academy announced that its campus would be closed due to inclement weather and travel conditions.
At 4:40 p.m., Grenada School District officials made its much-anticipated announcement that its campuses will also be closed, so students should remain home.
Weather models continue to change frequently, so the effects of the current Winter Storm Warning Grenada County is under are not clear.
The Star will continue to update closures, including businesses and roadways when and if they are announced.
