A 44-year-old Grenada man remains behind bars tonight after being arrested Wednesday on multiple drug charges in Carroll County.
According to Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reports, deputies cuffed Michael Jay Havens following a traffic stop in the Jefferson Community after the department was alerted to a suspicious vehicle. Once in the area, deputies initiated a traffic stop and searched Havens’ vehicle. With the assistance of a K-9 officer, deputies discovered felony amounts of Methamphetamine and Hydrocodone.
Upon discovery, Havens was taken into custody and booked into the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility. He was charged with Felony Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine greater than 20 grams – and Felony Possession of Controlled Substance – Hydrocodone more than 10 dosage units.
Havens remains jailed in the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility awaiting an initial appearance.
This case remains under investigation.
