It was a rough night for the Grenada Middle School football as they traveled to Batesville to face South Panola last Thursday.
In the opener, the 7th-Grade lost a 22-6 contest, while the 8th grade dropped a 41-0 decision.
With the action, the 7th-Grade is 0-2, while the 8th-grade is 0-2-1.
Isiah Montgomery had the lone touchdown with a 47-yard run. Micah Jones paced the rushing attack with 91 yards on 15 carries, while Montgomery had 77 yards on nine carries. Noland Mooney had 21 yards and Wyatt Elliott had 19 yards. The Chargers finished with two turnovers and had a touchdown called back due to a penalty.
Defensively, J.R. Gomez, Javarious Jones and Montgomery led the way.
8th Grade
Grenada was led by Judah Hearn with 88 yards on 13 carries.
Defensively, Davion Howell, Jace Small, Anthony Nelson and Samson Rounds.
Grenada travels to Clarksdale for action at 5:30 p.m.
