Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Dixie Rose Vold, 68, of Grenada, who died on Monday, Sept. 4, in Grenada. Burial followed in Leflore Cemetery. The Rev. Lanny Haley and the Rev. David Haggerty officiated.
Dixie Rose was born on Oct. 19, 1954, in Sardis, the daughter of the late Luther Marvin Jr. and the late Eva Lee Kilgore Fisher. She had worked at Pennaco Hosiery in Grenada and also in the cafeteria at the Carrie Dotson school. She was a member of Leflore Baptist Church and also attended Holcomb Baptist Church. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed watching TV and tending to her plants and flowers in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, one daughter, Jenny Wood, and her brothers, Sidney Fisher and Billy Gene Fisher, preceded Dixie Rose in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Charles “Chuck” Vold; one daughter, Kristina Boozer of Grenada; sister, Fran Fisher of Ackerman; five grandchildren, Ashlynn Palmertree, Katlynn Bobbitt, T.J. Russell, Delsin Boozer and MacKenzie Boozer and five great grandchildren, Kayden Hughes, Kassy Hughes, Nate Bobbitt, Payton Hughes and Railey Guerra.
Pallbearers were Tommy Aldridge, Bubba Ashmore, Michael Boozer, Roland Guerra, Kayden Hughes, Tommy Liddell, Michael Palmertree and T.J. Russell.
