A manhunt is underway for two inmates that escaped from the Grenada County Jail early Monday morning.
Grenada County Sheriff Rolando Fair identified the inmates as 59-year-old Claude Terry Slaughter and 28-year-old Jonathan Wayne Miller.
Slaughter is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound white male with brown hair and brown eyes. Miller is a 5-foot-11, 165-pound white male with brown hair and blue eyes.
According to Sheriff Fair, the Grenada County Jail is operated by Corrections Management Services. According to the Grenada County Board of Supervisors, the jail has been under contract with CMS for the last seven or eight years.
“We have called in other agencies, along with the United States Marshals Service to help us with this search,” Sheriff Fair said.
