Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Duck Hill Baptist Church for Cozette Bryant Hamilton, 84, of Duck Hill, who died on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Grenada. Burial will follow in Duck Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Buchanan and the Rev. Marlon Long will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, and from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Duck Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hamilton was born on June 24, 1939, in Vardaman, the daughter of the late Everett Hill and the late Bessie Gertrude Ward Bryant. She was a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church where she enjoyed all aspects such as the flower committee, WMU, Vacation Bible School and GAs. She loved tending to her flowers, decorating and serving her community. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Carl Wayne Hamilton; sisters, Virginia Mae Edington, Kate Robertson and Fairy Mayhan, and brothers, Kenneth Bryant, Wayne Bryant, Donald Bryant and Everett “Buddy” Bryant, preceded Mrs. Hamilton in death.
Survivors include, her sons, Perry Hamilton (Lisa) of Duck Hill, Tad Hamilton of Slate Springs and Stacy Hamilton of Eskridge; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and many other people that she considered her children and grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Aubrey Hamilton, Austin Hamilton, Daniel Hamilton, Aaron Cockroft, Ty Long and Jacob Bennett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Duck Hill Baptist Church, 301 Main St., Duck Hill, MS 38925 or New Liberty Baptist Church, 211 CR 430, Vardaman, MS 38878.
