Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Charles Edward Snell, 80, of Grenada, who died on Thursday, Nov. 13, in Grenada. Burial followed in Grenada Memorial Garden. The Rev. James Melton officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at McKibben and Guinn.
Charles was born on Feb. 16, 1945, in Holmes County, the son of the late Morris Lane Snell and the late Ella Mae Blaylock Snell. He possessed a remarkable work ethic and began a dedicated 45-year career with Memphis Hardwood Flooring Co., at the age of 17. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time woodworking, fishing at the Grenada Spillway and tending to various projects with his John Deere tractor. He was a member of Hardy Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his sisters, Opal Steadman, Nellie Steadman, Sarah LaCombe and Peggy Grant, and one brother, Douglas Snell, preceded Charles in death.
Survivors include, his wife of 35 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Smith Snell; stepdaughter, Dezera Graham of Weirsdale, Fla.; stepson, Curtis Jones of Grenada; three brothers, Thomas Snell (Janice), Ronnie Snell and Donnie Snell, all of Grenada; three grandchildren, Abigail Flores, Alex Jones and Joshua Earhart, and three great grandchildren, Adeline Jones, Tannah Earhart and Brantley Earhart.
Ray Davis, Joe Jones, Chance Melton, Daniel Melton, Scott Moss and Dusty honored Charles by serving as pallbearers.
