Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at North Winona Baptist Church for Mr. Charles E. Sheffield, 92, of Winona, who died on Monday, June 6, at his residence. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Tracy Putnam, The Rev. Joey Hamilton and Mr. Richard Sheffield officiated. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday, June 9, at the church.
Mr. Sheffield was born on April 23, 1930, in Calhoun City, the son of E.E. and Myrtle Burleson Sheffield. He was a member at North Winona Baptist Church and a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
His parents and his sister, Elizabeth Byars, preceded Mr. Sheffield in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Bobbie Hamilton Sheffield of Winona; daughter, Lori Sheffield Busby of Birmingham, Ala.; sons, Richard Sheffield (Kathy) of Canton and Tony Sheffield (Nicki) of Winona; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to North Winona Baptist Church, 602 Alberta Dr., Winona, MS 38967.
