Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at the Pentecostals of Grenada for Mr. Bobby Wayne Singley, 80, of Grenada, who died on Sunday, Oct. 22, in Oxford. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery in Carroll County. The Rev. Damon Tipton officiated.
Bobby was born on May 7, 1943, in Carroll County, the son of the late Morgan Herman and the late Bessie Pauline Ray Singley. He spent most of his working life as an auto mechanic and was a racing enthusiast. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Carroll County.
In addition to his parents, one son, Charles Wayne Singley; one sister, Thelma Ruth Joyner, and two brothers, Paul Singley and Sonny Singley, preceded Bobby in death.
Survivors include, his wife of 58 years, Myra Singley; two daughters, Sandy Rosamond (Steven) of Grenada and Kim Singley of Grenada; one son, Bobby Joe Singley of Grenada; two sisters, Glenda DuBard and Shirley Carroll of Grenada; two grandchildren, Ashley Hankins and Tyler Winter and six great grandchildren, Aubrey Hankins, Draylin Hankins, Jennah Claire Winter, Lilly Kate Winter, Talynn Elizabeth Winter and Kaiden Tyler Winter.
Phil Clements, Buster Holmes, Landon Rosamond, Brett Tilghman, John Tilghman and Tyler Winter honored Bobby by serving as pallbearers and carried him to his final resting place. Zach Lane, Roger Lott, Jerry Lee Mangram and Andy Stepps served as honorary pallbearers.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Vital Caring Home Health and Dr. Ben Lambert for the exceptional care provided to Bobby and the family. They also wish to recognize Roger Lott for being a lifelong friend to Bobby and always being there for him.
