Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Billy Ray Littrell, 89, of Grenada, who died on Tuesday, Dec. 26, in Oxford. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. John Goldwater officiated. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday, Dec. 30, at McKibben and Guinn.
Billy was born on Aug. 27, 1934, in Marks, son of the late Bill and the late Gloria Lynn Tedford Littrell. He honorably served our country in the United States Army and was a member of the Grenada VFW Post 4488. He enjoyed a career spanning more than 30 years in banking. He began his career at the Coahoma County Bank and soon joined the Grenada Banking System, and ultimately retired from Union Planters Bank.
In years past, Mr. Littrell enjoyed hunting and loved to play golf. He also enjoyed dancing and found great pleasure dancing on weekends at the VFW. Above all, Billy will long be remembered as a devoted family man who never missed an opportunity to attend an activity that his grandchildren were in.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Jean Littrell, preceded Billy in death.
Survivors include, his daughters, Lynn Grantham (Daryl) of Grenada and Lisa Haynes (Jamie) of Merigold; son, Mike Littrell (Mitzi) of Grenada; brother, Jimmy Littrell (Janice) of Clarksdale; eight grandchildren, Michael Littrell (Jaime), Jenny Gann (Andy), Chelsea Mims (Troye), Tara Grantham, Maggie Stidham (Taylor), Taylor Byford (Tori), Landon Wortham and Tripp Haynes, and five great grandchildren, Sophie Mims, Troye Mims IV, Blakely Stidham, Mari Byford and Eva Jean Byford.
Taylor Byford, Andy Gann, Tripp Haynes, Michael Littrell, Troye Mims III, Taylor Stidham and Landon Wortham honored Billy by serving as pallbearers and carried him to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4488 in Grenada.
