Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Mr. Bill Henry Denton, 82, of Winona, who died on Sunday, Nov. 27, in Grenada. Burial followed in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery near Winona. The Rev. Terry Corley officiated. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home.
Mr. Denton was born on Aug. 29, 1940, the son of the late William Jesse and the late Marcell Gladys Denton. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Ruby Russell Denton; one daughter, Tina Marcell Denton; one grandchild and his brothers, preceded Mr. Denton in death.
Survivors include, two daughters, Teresa Cummings of Winona and Patricia Ann Palmertree of Lubbock, Texas; son, Bill Denton Jr. (Charlene) of Philadelphia; sister, Brenda Smith of Keiser, Ark.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
