Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at Womble Funeral Home in Charleston for Bergy Bonds Young, 71, of Charleston, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at his residence. Burial followed in Magnolia Gardens in Paynes. Bro. William Tribble officiated. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at Womble Funeral Home.
Bergy grew up in Webb, the son of Mattie Jean (Jones) Young and Lewis B. Young.
His father, Lewis Bonds Young; his grandparents, Estelle and Floyd Jones of Charleston and May (Bonds) and Leon Young of Webb, preceded Bergy in death.
Survivors include, his mother, Mattie Jean (Jones) Young, and many cousins and friends.
