Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at Sparta Methodist Church for Mrs. Beatrice Pierce Biddy, 84, of Holcomb, who died on Thursday, Oct. 2, at her residence. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The Rev. Janie Mortimer and the Rev. Rick Shepherd officiated. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday, Oct. 5, at the church.
Bea was born on Sept. 10, 1941, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of that late Knox and the late Beatrice Zent Pierce. She was a faithful and devoted member of Sparta Methodist Church. She worked for several years as the high school secretary at Kirk Academy and was a life member of the Junior Auxiliary of Grenada.
Bea enjoyed participating in the Thursday Women’s Bible Study Group at Holcomb Methodist Church, and brought a great deal of Bible knowledge and her strong faith to the group. Bea will long be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, her husband, James H. Biddy Jr., and her sister, Arlein Pierce, preceded Bea in death.
Survivors include, her daughter, Arlein Palmer (Ric) of Holcomb; son, Brad Biddy (Susan) of Roswell, Ga.; five grandchildren, Rachel Beatty (Brett), Will Biddy, Shannon Biddy, Jacob Palmer (Amelia) and Eli Palmer; two great grandchildren, James Henry Palmer and Margaret Ruth Palmer, and a brother-in-law, Bobby Biddy (Dianne).
Brett Beatty, Haley Biddy, Will Biddy, David McElwrath, Eli Palmer and Jacob Palmer honored Bea by serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Sparta Methodist Church, P.O. Box 157, Holcomb, MS 38940.
