A funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Grenada for Ms. Barbara Dyre Fuller, 77, of Grenada, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Batesville. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday, Sept. 15, at the church.
Barbara was born on Feb. 18, 1948, in Oxford, the daughter of the late Lowrey White Dyre and the late Mary Hargarten Dyre. She earned her undergraduate degree and completed pharmacy school at the University of Mississippi. She enjoyed a career spanning 47 years as a pharmacist, having worked at Bonner’s, Sav-Mor, Grenada Lake Medical Center and at the Grenada Walmart.
A dedicated lover of all animals, Barbara was always willing to take in a stray. A devoted Ole Miss fan, she loved watching sports on TV and was very vocal about it when the wrong call was made. Above all, Barbara was a loving and kind mother and sister, who leaves her loved ones with many precious memories to cherish for years to come. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Grenada.
Survivors include, her beloved daughter, Rebecca Fuller of Grenada; three sisters, Mary Cathryn Hammac of Ridgeland, Teresa Dear of Madison and Anne Soldevila (Val) of Clarksdale; brother, Tommy Dyre (Lisa) of Grenada and her nieces and nephews, Amanda Stysly (Jason), Zach Dear (Jenna), Rachel Dear, Brandon Soldevila (Denise), Brett Soldevila (Katie), Derek Soldevila (Meri Claire), Justin Dyre (Jenny Claire) and Rett Dyre (Julie).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to ASPCA or your local animal shelter.
