Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Mr. Andrew C. “Pete” McCorkle, 82, of Vaiden, who died on Sunday, Aug. 14, at his residence near Vaiden. Burial will follow in Vaiden Cemetery. The Rev. David Westmoreland will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. McCorkle was born on Nov. 6, 1939, the son of the late William and Kitty Sullivan McCorkle. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Carroll County.
In addition to his parents, his sisters, Leneva Stewart, Margie Mullen and Mozelle Nelms, and two brothers, Estes McCorkle and Charles McCorkle, preceded Mr. McCorkle in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Hilda Pinkston McCorkle of Vaiden; daughter, Kathy Eddins (Don) of Vaiden; son, Andy McCorkle (Delinda) of Vaiden; one brother, Fred McCorkle of Leland; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
