Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston for William Harry Ford, 68, of Charleston, who died on Thursday, Aug. 24. Burial will follow in Magnolia Garden Cemetery in Paynes. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 25, in the chapel of Newsom Funeral Home.
Harry was a mechanic, loved racing and building trucks, was a carpenter – just a jack of all trades. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family.
His parents, William Henry Ford and Johnnie Huddleston Ford; two sisters, Reva Howard and Linda Jones, and one brother, Jimmy Dale Ford, preceded Harry in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Ruby Grace Ford of Oakland; daughter, Tabitha Ford of Bartlett, Tenn.; sons, William Shayne Ford (Holli) of Oakland and Joshua Thomas Ford (Katlin) of Oakland; six grandchildren, Jenah Victoria Ford, Ava Claire Ford, Meah Faith Ford, Isabella Renee Ford, Layla Claire Ford and Thomas Kade Ford; four sisters, Henrece Murphy, Belva Faye Ford, Wanda Wortham and Connie Smith, all of Charleston and one brother, Henry Larry Ford (Mary Alice) of Charleston.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Shayne Ford, 1420 Springhill Rd., Oakland, MS 38948.
