A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc for Thermon Keith Loeffel, 58, of Gore Springs, who died on Monday, Nov. 24, at his residence after a long illness. Burial followed in Dunlap Cemetery in Mt. Gilead. Bro. Michael Daniels officiated.
Keith was born on March 16, 1967. He had a deep love for God, his family and his country. A kind-hearted and passionate outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing.
His son, Thermon Keith Loeffel Jr., and his grandparents, Roy and Helen Daniels, and James and Marliana Loeffel, preceded Keith in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Melody Pittman of Panama City, Fla.; his mother, Shirlon Butler of Myrtle; his sister, Marquitta Wilson of Pontotoc; his brother, Roger Porter of Myrtle; his caregiver and companion, Melody Rushing of Gore Springs; two grandchildren of Panama City, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were Terry Lewis, Colby Lewis, Danny Taylor, Riley Porter, Michael Taylor and Larry Poole.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests the memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
